The fastest way to complete your MBA.
The MBA Future Business is the fastest way to complete an MBA. It’s flexible, with online study options available in addition to on-campus (in the Adelaide CBD) or blended experiences. And with three study periods to choose from, you set the pace.
You’ll graduate with a comprehensive foundation covering the core business and management disciplines. The skills you’ll develop could see you embracing leadership roles in organisations including government departments, not for profits, international organisations and social enterprises.
Real industry experience is a major part of this fast-tracked course, with up to 26 weeks of industry placement experience. You’ll have access to specialised industry entrepreneurial programs, including the Defence Entrepreneurship Program (DEP).
Flinders is the first university in South Australia to offer the DEP, a landmark program that will see you learn how to use modern innovation tools and techniques to address real national security and intelligence issues, and help you create deep links with US and UK networks.
Duration: 1 year
The MBA Future Business contains 16 core topics, and you can choose an industry placement or entrepreneurship program instead of one core topic. You will also undertake a major research project bringing together everything you have learnt over the course.

Learning in a real business setting is highly valued by employers and students alike, and we’ve built our MBA courses around it. Flinders University is proud to be the first university in South Australia, and the second in the country, to offer the Defence Entrepreneurship Program (DEP). Forming part of our MBA Future Business, the DEP is a landmark program that will see students learn how to use modern innovation tools and techniques to address real national security and intelligence issues. It is based on the Hacking for Defense ® (H4D) program created in the US in 2016 by Steve Blank, founder of the Lean Startup movement; Joe Felter, a retired Army Colonel; and Peter Newell, CEO of BMNT.
Experience the Innovative Manufacturing Accelerator (IMA) as part of your course. This specialised industry entrepreneurial program is focused on helping small to medium enterprises address business challenges using advanced manufacturing tools and techniques – also known as industry 4.0. It combines the best of the university’s world-class advanced manufacturing and prototyping capabilities with access to academics and researchers, and will feature interactive workshops, coaching, technical support, mentor guidance and more.
FOMENT works in two ways: technological acceleration, and technological adoption. Engage with both as part of your MBA, with the program offering intensive acceleration to existing wine and tourism technology companies that are innovative and ready to scale up, and pairing them with businesses who will use their products and services. FOMENT is also intended to speed up technology adoption by wine and tourism businesses by connecting them with more technology solutions.
Graduates of the Master of Business Administration Future Business program are competent in the functional areas of business: accounting and finance, human resource management, leadership, marketing, and operations.
