Offered on campus in the Adelaide CBD or as a blended experience with online classes, the MBA Industry Focused will see you apply your learning to problems faced by real companies.
With a total of up to 36 weeks of experience through Work Integrated Learning and industry programs, you'll get to know the people, places and things that will open doors for your career.
You can also take part in specialised industry entrepreneurial programs like the Advanced Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Program, which combines the best of Flinders’ world-class advanced manufacturing and prototyping capabilities with access to the university’s academics.

With a total of up to 36 weeks of experience through Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and industry programs, you’ll have the chance to build networks that are second to none and develop leadership skills you can’t learn from a textbook.
You’ll also have access to specialised industry entrepreneurial programs like the Advanced Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Program, which combines the best of Flinders’ world-class advanced manufacturing and prototyping capabilities with access to the university’s academics and researchers.

The MBA Industry Focused contains 16 core topics, with your first year including study about marketing, economics, finance, ethics, sustainability and the law. Your second year will focus on business topics including leading a future workforce and tends in business finance, plus an industry placement.

The MBA Industry Focused gives you the chance to work directly with industry for up to 36 weeks, meaning you’ll have the opportunity to deeply engage with the inner workings of real workplaces. Experience the Advanced Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Program as part of your course. This specialised industry entrepreneurial program is focused on helping small to medium enterprises address business challenges using advanced manufacturing tools and techniques – also known as industry 4.0. It combines the best of the university’s world-class advanced manufacturing and prototyping capabilities with access to academics and researchers, and will feature interactive workshops, coaching, technical support, mentor guidance and more.
The Wine and Tourism Entrepreneurship Program works in two ways: technological acceleration, and technological adoption. Engage with both as part of your MBA, with the program offering intensive acceleration to existing wine and tourism technology companies that are innovative and ready to scale up, and pairing them with businesses who will use their products and services. Our Wine and Tourism Entrepreneurship Program is also intended to speed up technology adoption by wine and tourism businesses by connecting them with more technology solutions.
Graduates of the Master of Business Administration Industry Focused program are competent in the functional areas of business: accounting and finance, human resource management, leadership, marketing, and operations.
You can also choose an industry placement instead of one core topic. And you could also extend your industry exposure by electing to undertake an industry entrepreneurial program: the Wine and Tourism Entrepreneurship Program, or the Advanced Manufacturing Entrepreneurship Program.
You will also undertake a major industry project which will bring together everything you have learnt over the course and put it into practice. Graduates of the Master of Business Administration Future Business program are competent in the functional areas of business: accounting and finance, human resource management, leadership, marketing, and operations.
