A message from Luke Havelberg, Chief Information Officer
Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource and enabler of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. Flinders University has a clear, exciting, and innovative strategic vision, and IDS plays a critical role through partnering with the University to provide technology leadership, expertise, and support across the key strategic areas of research and education.
Flinders University, through IDS, has endeavoured to always be proactive and progressive in our focus on Information Security. Kim Valois serves as our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Flinders University, and has led the delivery of multiple, significant information security investments over the recent few years giving Flinders a progressive and mature capability.
We continuously review how we mature our approach to information security at the University - through the tools and technology we use, and by looking at our overall strategy, governance, and risk management. We play a strong role in supporting and advising the University on all things cyber and information security; being a trusted partner which is something we take a lot of pride in.
Importantly, we invest in our people! Our CISO, with support from the broader IDS Leadership Team ensures that all members of the Information Security team are provided with professional development opportunities and receive ongoing training and education. Information security is forever changing, so we actively support conference and networking event attendance, keep our people up to date with all the latest updates, information, and best practices.
