An honours degree is a one-year specialisation related to your undergraduate study.
You can do an honours degree in one of two ways; once you’ve completed your bachelor degree, you can undertake an extra year of specialised study related to your degree, or you can undertake a four-year combined bachelor and honours degree, which you apply for via SATAC.
Studying honours will give you a valuable qualification with a grounding in research. Honours demonstrates your ability to undertake study at an advanced level, and will help you progress towards a higher degree by research.
If you’re not interested in further study, your honours qualification will help your job prospects in a competitive market.
