The Indigenous Admission Scheme provides an alternative entry pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people into Flinders University.
To be eligible for the Indigenous Admission Scheme (IAS) you must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in accordance with the Commonwealth definition which requires you to:

AS applications are open for courses starting in Semester 1 2022. You are encouraged to apply without delay.
IAS applications for Midyear 2022 entry will open in April 2022 and will close on mid June 2022.
Apply for the course you want to study through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). You will get an application number from SATAC that you will need for your Indigenous Admission application form.*
Complete the online Indigenous Admission Scheme application. An acknowledgement email will be sent from the Indigenous Admissions Coordinator at Flinders University.
An interview is part of the application process; however you will be notified about this.
*You have an option of paying the SATAC processing fee at a later time. To waive your late fee, please email us at ias@flinders.edu.au
For Flinders University’s purposes you may confirm your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity in one of two ways:
The Flinders University of South Australia and its delegates require any applicant seeking a benefit or opportunity based in part upon their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity to provide formal confirmation or affirmation of that identity.
Provide a certified copy of a formal document confirming your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity. This should be from an incorporated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisation stating that the organisation recognises you as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. This document should also contain the Common Seal of the organisation.

If you are unable to provide a Confirmation of Indigeneity you may complete and submit a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration. The declaration is to be witnessed and signed by a Justice of the Peace or similar.
