On Wednesday 9 December 2020, Flinders University acknowledged the ten-year anniversary of women’s health advocate Dr Lesley Shorne’s passing with a lunch at Alere Function Centre on campus.
Hosted by the Dean of Education for the College of Medicine and Public Health, Associate Professor Alison Jones, the lunch celebrated Dr Lesley Shorne’s commitment to advancing women in the medical field and the wider community, a legacy that continues today through the Dr Lesley Shorne Memorial Scholarship at Flinders University.
Friends, supporters and past scholarship recipients heard from the 2020 scholarship recipient, Vanshika Sinh on the impact the scholarship will have on her studies, and from Dorothy Shorne on her sister’s continuing legacy.
