Lindon Wing Research Fund
Created to honour the life and work of Emeritus Professor Lindon Wing OAM, the Lindon Wing Research Fund will foster innovations in clinical science by supporting collaborative research between SA Health and Flinders University.
Emeritus Professor Lindon Wing OAM was Dean of the School of Medicine (now known as the College of Medicine and Public Health) at Flinders University from 1998 to 2007. He had been associated with the School since 1976, initially as a Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology before being promoted to Professor in 1992. He was appointed as an Emeritus Professor at Flinders University in 2007.
Professor Wing’s research interests ranged from blood pressure control, clinical pharmacology of antihypertensive drugs, orthostatic hypotension, and the interaction of other therapeutic drugs with blood pressure and antihypertensive drugs.
During his time as Dean, Professor Wing was at the forefront of fostering research activities involving both clinician and non-clinicians, strengthening the institutional links between the University and Flinders Medical Centre, and advancing healthcare in rural and remote locations.
“Lindon was an outstanding educator, clinician and scientist and had a profound impact on Flinders School of Medicine and Flinders Medical Centre,” says Professor Jonathan Craig, Vice President and Executive Dean, College of Medicine and Public Health.
Sadly, Professor Wing passed away on Thursday, 25 November 2021, aged 78.
