Supporting students like Jasmine to access higher education
Growing up with her mum in a low socio-economic area of country South Australia, Jasmine had a love of science and mathematics, and enjoyed being creative. After speaking with women working in engineering, Jasmine realised she could combine all of her passions by working in this field. During Year 12 she applied for a Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics) at Flinders University.
When Jasmine discovered she had been accepted into her dream degree she faced several challenges including having to pack up and move away from the country. This caused increased financial pressures that many of Jasmine’s peers living locally did not need to consider, so she applied for a Student Impact Scholarship.
“Receiving a scholarship has had a massive impact on my life and my studies. The funds mean that I am able to buy the materials and resources that will best support my academic success,” says Jasmine.
“I am very grateful for this scholarship. I cannot emphasise how much the added financial security has positively influenced my overall wellbeing and my determination to succeed.”
