Go Beyond with Flinders University Education agents Flinders Executive Education Week

Hosted by Flinders International Recruitment team and delivered in conjunction with the College of Business, Government and Law, the Flinders University Executive Education Week is an exclusive Professional Development event for key international recruitment partners.

It will be held 1 — 7 September 2019 across all three university campuses: Bedford Park, Tonsley and Adelaide City and will include exciting activities across various iconic Adelaide locations.

Dr Ashokkumar Manoharan keyboard_arrow_up

Dr Ashokkumar Manoharan is a Lecturer in the Flinders Business at the College of Business, Government and Law, Flinders University. He teaches for MBAs and undergraduates. Dr Manoharan has an interdisciplinary background. Dr Manoharan completed his PhD from the University of South Australia in 2015. He was awarded the Australia Postgraduate Award scholarship from Australian Commonwealth Government and Top-Up scholarship from University of South Australia. Dr Manoharan has valuable overseas experience in teaching, training, and consultancy. His research revolves around diverse workforce, migrant workers, diversity management and organisational culture.
 
Session: Enhancing strategic thinking through a balanced scorecard approach.

Robert Chalmers keyboard_arrow_up

Robert, senior Lecturer in innovation and enterprise brings a strong commercialisation background to the table, having developed and run startup funds and worked as a director and adviser with many innovative businesses and organisations. He is also an experienced educator with deep expertise in a broad range of issues around new business creation and the development and use of technology and intellectual property.

Professor Roberta Crouch keyboard_arrow_up

Roberta is a Professor in Business Management at the College of Business, Government and Law. She the current director of the MBA and Masters of Business programs. She is also a past director of the MSc in Wine Business at the ESC Dijon Burgundy School of Business (France) and the Masters in Wine Business program and Chair of the University of Adelaide Wine Future Research Cluster.  She has conducted consumer behaviour research and, more specifically, the drivers of premium purchase decisions respective to wine, tourism, international services and a range of other products and services extensively, nationally and internationally, in both established and developing markets. She is widely published in both academic and business publications. Roberta also has led a number of substantial research projects for Wine Australia. Additionally, Roberta has consulted and provided strategic advice to industry, education and government stakeholders across a wide range of business related activities; marketing planning, branding and positioning, export strategies, building business relationships and business planning.

Roberta has extensive international business experience, conducting research and/or consulting in the following markets: United States, United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Indonesia, India, China, Korea, Vietnam, Italy, Singapore, Germany.

Dr Valarie Caines keyboard_arrow_up

Dr Valerie Caines is a lecturer in HRM & Management. Prior to working in academia Dr Caines served in a range of senior leadership roles with organisations across Australia including professional services, FMCG, and defence. She has continued to work as a consultant with major Australian consulting firms and is director of her own company. Dr Caines is highly sought after as a consultant advising government and corporate clients on strategic HRM and change management issues.

Dr Caines’ research interests are centred on workforce ageing, grey entrepreneurship, retirement and late-career. Her current research projects are examining reluctance to retire in the professions.

Session: Negotiation skill masterclass.

Dr Phillip Palmer keyboard_arrow_up

Dr Palmer is a Lecturer in Accounting and coordinator of accounting discipline. He has extensive finance industry experience, having worked in a bank for 14 years and as a commercial banking analyst for much of this time before joining Flinders, giving him an in-depth industry understanding. His research interests are financial reporting in not for profit entities, international accounting standards and Financial Reporting more generally.

Session: Financial masterclass.

Professor Adrian Cheung keyboard_arrow_up

Professor Adrian (Wai Kong) Cheung is a Professor of Commerce at the College of Business, Governance and Law, Flinders University. He is Research Section Head of Business and Program Director of Masters programs in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, and Accounting & Marketing, respectively.
