Care is at the heart of our research. We are collaborating across nursing and health sciences disciplines – and with other colleges within the university, industry, community and consumers – to deliver research that empowers individuals, supports industry and care professionals and informs policy makers on matters of healthy living, disease prevention, inclusion and disaster resilience.
We are experts across a wide range of disciplines such as but not limited to nursing and midwifery, aged care, speech pathology, palliative care, nutrition and dietetics, disability and community inclusion, exercise science, disaster planning and relief. We are working together to grow knowledge and improve policy and practice for healthy and strong individuals and communities.
Flinders University has a legacy of world-renowned research, and we are combining our expertise with technological innovation and collaborative methods for future-focused and evidence-based solutions.
The Caring Futures Institute is Australia’s first fully dedicated research organisation for the study of self-care and caring solutions leading to better lives, better communities, better care and better systems.
The Institute works with leading care organisations, health professionals, community partners and consumers to pioneer outcome-driven research that makes a positive impact on people’s lives.
The Research Centre for Palliative Care, Death and Dying explores the universal experience of death and dying and champions the contribution of palliative care to the person, the health professional and the health system.
The SHAPE Research Centre is uniquely focused on sport, health, activity, performance and exercise. Our research is bringing experts together to tackle emerging health concerns.
Flinders Digital Health Research Centre provides expertise, innovation and leadership to ensure that Flinders University achieves national and international recognition as a premier institution for digital health systems and technologies research.
Through research, we are improving individual and community resilience and government and community planning and management during natural and local disasters. We are looking at better ways to inform decisions and policy for disaster management and tools for communities to work together on disaster planning and relief.
