Ever dreamed of living, studying or working in France?

Hosted in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Australia, French Day is a unique opportunity to discuss future work opportunities in South Australia with French industry partners, speak with universities about studying in France, and enjoy a taste of French culture at Flinders.

Experience French culture, speak with Flinders students who have studied in France, and engage with French universities and industry partners about study and graduate opportunities.

The Coconut Kids create French-influenced world folk using ukulele, brass, bass, keys, violin, mandolin, percussion and powerful vocals.

Naval Group	As the international design and build partner for Australia's Future Submarine Program Naval play a critical role in the construction and delivery of 12 world-leading, regionally superior Future Submarines.
PREDICT	Working in the field of Naval Defense Systems, PREDICT specialize in the design and development of solutions for Monitoring, Diagnostics, Prognosis and Remote Maintenance of Industrial Installations.
Easy Skill	Easy Skill is an engineering consulting company headquartered in Lyon, and located in France, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Abu Dhabi and Australia.
French Australian Chamber of Commerce	The Chamber supports French companies in Australia through information, networking and business support services.
Dassault Systemes	Dassault develops 3D design, 3D digital mock-up, and product lifecycle management (PLM) software. Their customers include Airbus, Bosch and Lenovo.

CentraleSupélec	Centrale Supélec is a top French public Institute of Science and Technology, resulting of the merger of the Ecole Centrale Paris and Supélec in January 2015.
École Polytechnique	With joint research units with the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), École Polytechnique Research Center provides major contributions to science, technology, and society.

French Art presentation (12.30pm)

Dr Romain Fathi will introduce four works (including a Matisse!) to showcase the rich diversity of Flinders University Art Museum collection, while discussing key events in French history.

French Books on Wheels Inc

This not-for-profit association aims familiarise francophiles and francophones with French language publications. A selection of books, magazines and DVDs will be for sale.

The Coconut Kids

Infectiously fun, The Coconut Kids' unique sound will have you dancing one minute and wiping away a solitary tear the next. You won't regret strapping in for a taste of coco-chaos.

Study French at Flinders

French is spoken in more than 40 countries and is one of the most widely taught second languages in the world. It is also:

a major commercial and scientific language in a united Europe
a language of diplomacy and an official working language of major international organisations (eg. United Nations, Olympics Games, International Red Cross)
the second most widespread and well-distributed language of the media.

While French can be studied for the intrinsic value of learning another language and culture, French can be a very useful asset in such fields as cultural exchanges, scientific collaboration and the promotion of trade ties between France and Australia.

Flinders is at the frontline of defence-oriented research and development in a myriad of different ways across our campuses.

Our robotics team are making new advances that could keep our soldiers out of harm’s way, our fibre optics technology is revolutionising battlefield communications, our engineers are evolving ways to enhance body mechanics to ensure our military personnel are at peak performance levels…we are even looking at making munitions and explosives more stable for longer.
