Cell Screen SA is a professional research facility supporting researchers and industry on biomedical innovations and discovery.
Cell Screen SA (CeSSA) provides high throughput screening of compounds or RNAi on cell-culture or enzymatic-based models of disease. We work with academia and industry to run screening projects with established assays with either a plate reader (Ensight) or imaging (Operetta) endpoint. The facility's robotic equipment can also help automate other methods used in laboratory research, such as enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA).
Established in 2017, Cell Screen SA is a fee-for-service facility with equipment run by our team of experienced staff.

OUR EQUIPMENT
Multimode plate reader for absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence, time-resolved fluorescence and, uniquely, AlphaLISA® assay measurement.
High-content imaging system for high-throughput imaging and image analysis. Brightfield, fluorescence, confocal and non-confocal microscope.
Liquid handler for complex pipetting procedures. Range from nano to microliters. 8-tip Varispan™ for multi-tipped processing from tubes to vials to plates. 96-tip Modular Dispense Technology (MDT) dispense arms for liquid handling on 96 and 384 well plates.
Plate aspiration and dispense. Dispenser for variable volume dispensing of liquid through columns or rows.
Robotic arm for movement of plates between all instruments allowing automated workflows for high-throughput screening applications or time-course imaging
FlexDrop iQ non-contact dispenser for plate based qPCR setup and drug dispensing. User-friendly dispensing of nanolitres-to-microlitre volumes of almost any liquid into 96, 384, or 1536 well plates with a dead volume of 1 μL.
The FlexDrop iQ Non-contact Dispenser can greatly reduce the cost and time associated with the drug discovery process and qPCR setup (384-well plate qPCR setup takes less than 5 minutes).
While some equipment is only operated by our experienced staff, CeSSA is changing and has user-friendly equipment for immediate use by students and researchers, alike. Please contact us to enquire about training and booking.
