Our research is disrupting traditional models and challenging old ways of thinking, focusing on how caring and self-care leads to real outcomes and improved health for current and future generations.
The Caring Futures Institute encompasses programs of research spanning across self-care, health and wellness; community involvement; care interventions; and health, ageing and social care systems and services. We are exploring how we can apply better care and health outcomes across the lifespan and how we can develop self-care and caring solutions to improve people's quality of life and boost social and economic prosperity.
Our research is focused across four key themes – better lives, better communities, better care and better systems– underpinned by technology; knowledge translation; health economics; and methodological innovations.
What does a good quality of life look like for older Australians? Caring Futures Institute researchers have been talking with older Australians using aged care services about what makes for a good quality of life for them.
We've developed a new quality of life measure to help aged care providers demonstrate the impacts of their services and supports. Quality assessments are an important part of providers monitoring the impact of their services on consumers and help provide evidence that they are achieving the new quality aged care standards.
