Flinders low intensity guided workbooks
In conjunction with those with lived experience of mental health concerns and clinicians we have developed a suite of guided self-help workbooks that support the delivery of high dose narrow bandwidth support provisions for step 2, low intensity psychological interventions.
The workbooks are intended to be used in conjunction with the Flinders low intensity practitioner and supervisor training and are most effective when accompanied by accredited training from Flinders cognitive behaviour therapy courses. The workbooks have been evaluated in national programs throughout Australia and are used by services who are supporting low intensity service provisions. The workbooks support flexible and tailored strategies that attend to different people’s situations and needs, ensuring individual care and support.
The COVID-19 pandemic is having significant impacts on population mental health. Preliminary data, clinical and lived experience insights suggest that Australia is beginning to see higher levels of reported anxiety and psychological distress in the general population. Now, more than ever, we need a mental health system that puts people first, providing services and supports in a way that best matches a person’s unique life circumstances.
