Course content

Creating a rich and complex world for characters is an exciting starting point for your playwrighting journey. This short course will take you through the dynamic process of establishing the rules of your dramatic world, building context, exploring the rhythm and momentum of tension within the world of your play, creating characters and making a writing plan. 

Learning outcomes

On completion of this short course students will have learned to:

• apply skills for creating and building a dramatic world

• engage with practical playwriting strategies for creating characters and dialogue

• create a writing plan.
  

Assessment

Successful completion of an online quiz.

Credit

• 1 short course is equivalent to 1 unit of credit. 
• Students will receive a certificate of achievement. 
• Students may study four short courses, complete an optional assessment task and receive the equivalent of 4.5units (one topic).
