Online student services and resources

Flinders online students have access to a range of support services, including learning support, financial assistance and career services. Many of these services and resources are available via a single online platform which can be accessed from anywhere on any internet capable device.

Learning support

Dedicated online coordinator

A dedicated online coordinator will teach and support you throughout the course of your studies. Your online tutors are also available to chat via phone, email, or on-campus if you decide to visit.

Student Learning Centre (SLC)

The Student Learning Centre (SLC) provides online resources and phone support, including extended phone consultation to help develop your study skills.

Virtual classrooms and discussion forums

Most topics have virtual classrooms or discussion forums, where you can participate in discussions and ask for help from your coordinator or tutor online.

Support hours

Online students can call 1300 354 633 (select option 3 for Library) or email library@flinders.edu.au for assistance between 9am to 5pm (AEDT) Monday to Friday.

FLO student support

To help you navigate through Flinders Learning Online (FLO) – your online learning environment – the library offers a range of support materials online. This includes videos and how to guides on submitting assignments, using forums, and more.

The FLO Student Helpdesk can be contacted by emailing flo.student@flinders.edu.au, by telephoning 1300 354 633 (press 3 for FLO assistance), or by using our online form.

FindIt@Flinders

FindIt@Flinders is a search engine that provides results from the library's online resources (ebooks and journal articles) and print collections in a single search.

eReadings

eReadings are book chapters and journal articles your lecturer requires you to read for your topics.

eBooks

The library is home to thousands of eBooks that you can access from anywhere and at anytime.

Databases

As well as using FindIt@Flinders, you can search through the library’s list of online journal databases.

Document delivery

If you need access to a book or journal article that isn't in our collection, you can request a copy through document delivery and get it delivered to you either through the post or email.

SendIt: off-campus library service

If you require physical items from the library collection, you can request them to be posted to you via our SendIt - Off Campus Library Service.

Technical support

IT help

Helpdesk and computer support is available to all online students. We can assist you with account setup, provide free software downloads and offer online computer tutorials.

MyFlinders

Our dedicated MyFlinders site provides information and resources to help you enrol, prepare your timetable, access your learning resources, and more.

General support services

Flinders Connect

All online students have access to Flinders Connect, our central support service. You can call or email Flinders Connect for help with enrolment support, exams, fees, scholarships, and for many other general enquiries.

CareerHub

Flinders CareerHub offers personalised job opportunities, access to employer events and free career related resources.

Counselling service

The University provides a free and confidential counselling service to assist students with mental health and wellbeing, along with personal, disability and study related matters. Online students can speak to counsellors over the phone or via email.

You can access this service for academic and personal issues including time management/procrastination, academic planning, exam anxiety, support for extensions and supplementary examination applications as well as low self-confidence, depression, anxiety, stress management, problem solving/decision making.

Student lounges

Many topics have student lounge discussion forums where you can talk to, and get to know, fellow classmates at an informal level.

Study a Juris Doctor online

The Juris Doctor (JD) is an internationally recognised professional legal qualification at masters level for graduates of other disciplines. It is offered fully online, allowing flexibility to balance your other commitments.
