Whether you’ve been studying for a few weeks or a few years, it’s not unusual to change your mind about your course.

Choosing a university degree – or career path for that matter – isn’t a once and for all decision. At the end of the day, you won’t know what you like until you try.

There are lots of reasons students might decide to change their study path. For instance, you might:

• End up enjoying your electives more, which might be in a completely different discipline
• No longer see yourself pursuing a career in the area
• Be uncertain about where the degree can take you in the future
• Simply not find the content you're learning that interesting.

If this is sounding all too familiar, it’s never too late to change course – and you’ll be thankful you did in the long run. Not only will you be happier and more motivated, you’ll most likely have a greater chance of succeeding both at uni and in your future career.

Quite often you can also gain credit for previous study, so you might not necessarily have to extend your degree length.

So if your degree isn’t quite right for you, there’s no need to wait, most universities, including Flinders, offer midyear entry for Semester 2 as well as Semester 1 entry.
