Every year, Flinders University throws open it’s doors for a sensational Open Days, a chance for high school students, parents and anyone interested in attending university to find out more about Flinders and the steps to university life.

Of course, with circumstances continuing to be a little different, this year we’re giving you the opportunity of experiencing everything Flinders on demand, wherever and whenever its suits you with a fact and fun-filled Online Open Days.

Our five top tips to make the most of
Flinders Online Open Days.

1. Don't get distracted

Treat your Online Open Day like a normal Open Day. Block out your calendar, tell everyone you’re busy, turn off your TikTok notifications, turn off your TikTok notifications, turn off your… ok, leave them on, but try to minimise distractions.

Usually our Open Days are physically on-campus and away from a familiar environment, which makes it easier to stay focused. At home, at work or in school, there’s a lot going on that might disturb your concentration.

Flinders Online Open Days are your opportunity to gain valuable information that could help shape your future, so try to set yourself up in a quiet area where you can pay full attention to your Open Days experience.

And turn off your TikTok.

2. Pair up

During Online Open Days, many people come in groups - with family, friends or fellow students. Why not do the same during Flinders Online Open Days?

Pairing up means you’re less likely to miss things because your buddy will have your back. You can watch videos or presentations together, explore the campus virtually, compare notes, stay motivated and have more fun.

Just like our on-campus Open Days, this is your chance to explore everything Flinders has to offer and absorb as much information as possible, which is so much easier with a friend.

3. Give yourself time

One of the big temptations with any online experience is to quickly skim through or take shortcuts. To go heavy on overview and light on detail.

Our Online Open Days are designed to be fun and engaging, but keep in mind, they’re all about you. Your future. Your career. So, make sure you give yourself the time you need to really explore Flinders.

Remember, Flinders Online Open Days are designed to help you make important decisions about your uni future. Take the time you need. Grab a mocha choca latte, fire up your phone, make sure your tablet battery is charged or swipe your sibling’s laptop and find out everything you need to know about Flinders. But don’t take your sibling’s laptop. Seriously. That won’t end well.

4. Don’t sit back. Ask questions.

There. Are. No. Dumb. Questions. Online Open Days are your opportunity to find out about Flinders, the degrees you’re interested in, how to enrol, whether ducks can juggle, what sort of support Flinders offers students, parking, on-campus food outlets… you name it.

But don’t hang back if you have a burning question that hasn’t been answered. The Online Open Days environment will give you the opportunity to speak one-on-one to a Student Advisor, and ask all those questions you’ve been pondering. It’s what we’re here for.
