Overview
The combined degree of Master of Business Administration/Master of Health Administration prepares you to investigate advanced issues in health management with a strong foundation of business knowledge.
It will qualify you to apply an advanced body of knowledge in a range of contexts for professional practice or scholarship and as a pathway for further learning. Graduates will have advanced knowledge and skills for specialised professional practice, research and lifelong learning.
The course aims to provide a broad foundation of health service management and business knowledge, skills and attitudes to support ethical and global management of health and aged-care organisations including private sector, not-for-profit and public organisations.

Professional accreditation/recognition
The course prepares graduates for entry to the Australasian College of Health Service Management in the associate fellow membership category and assists medical practitioners to enter the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
What you will study
The combined degree course requires the completion of 72 units of study. The program can be completed in two years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). Core topics cover areas such as accounting for managers, managing people, health law and ethics, and health and aged care operations management. The program is offered by the Flinders College of Business, Government and Law and the College of Medicine and Public Health.
You will investigate advanced issues in management, develop knowledge and skills to conduct independent industry- and discipline-related management projects and/or research, and relate your learning to your individual organisational experience.

Applicants must hold one of the following:
- an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have not less than four years’ full-time professional experience in the health or aged-care sector following completion of the degree or equivalent qualification
- either the Graduate Certificate in Health Administration or equivalent, or the Graduate Diploma in Health Administration or equivalent from Flinders University and have not less than four years’ full-time professional experience in the health or aged care sector
- the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent from Flinders University and have not less than four years’ full-time professional experience in the health or aged care sector.
