The Master of Occupational Therapy consists of 72 units.
The Master of Occupational Therapy prepares you for professional practice as an occupational therapist.
You will progressively study topics focusing on:
Extensive fieldwork is included to ensure competency in practice.
You will undertake three clinical placements totaling 1,000 hours in accordance with the accreditation standards of the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia. These placements are full-time and for eight weeks. You will need to undertake at least one full-time placement in a rural or remote area. Placements may be scheduled outside of normal University teaching weeks, and you will be provided with further details on commencement of your studies.
To undertake clinical placements in SA you will require a National Police Certificate issued for the purpose of working with children and/or vulnerable groups and the following Department of Communities and Social Inclusion screenings:
You must also be immunised in accordance with the relevant State or Territory immunisation standards and meet any additional private provider requirements as needed.
Masters students will need to be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia by the University.
Applicants must hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and have achieved a Flinders equivalent grade point average (GPA) of credit (5.00) or above to be considered.
Applicants who did not achieve the minimum GPA in their completed approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, can be considered on the basis of a second bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters degree of their choice, provided they have completed a minimum one semester full-time equivalent study in one of these courses and that Flinders equivalent GPA is 5.00 or above in this study.

Applicants who meet the above requirements will be ranked on their best Flinders equivalent GPA of 5.0 or above achieved over a minimum of one semester of full-time equivalent study in one course.
