Cycling

Flinders has a large community of students and staff who cycle to campus on a regular basis. Cycling is healthy, saves you money and it is easy to find a place to store your bike when you get to campus. We have facilities available for you to lock your bike, and for you to shower and change.

Cycle paths

Plan your cycling journey online using Cycle Instead or download bike maps.

On campus, there are designated cycle lanes along University Drive, and from Bellevue Heights through car park 3.

Parking your bike on campus

Secure your bike to rails in the following locations:

• Mall (near Registry Road)
• Outside the Eatery near the Hub
• Humanities (northern courtyard entrance and walkway to SSN)
• Social Sciences South (main entrance)
• Sports Centre (east side)
• Information Science and Technology (IST) (main entrance)
• Engineering (east side of IST building)
• Sturt Buildings (under Library).

Lockable bicycle store

There are three lockable bike storages on Bedford Park and Sturt campus, available for free to students and staff.

Use the Bike Store Access Application Form (XLS 29KB) to apply for access to a bike storage. Return the completed form to security@flinders.edu.au.

You'll be able to access the lockable bike storage with your staff or student card once activated by Security.

The Bedford Park bike storages are located adjacent Sports Centre and under the steps at Anchor Court.

At Sturt Campus the lockable bike storage is located under the Library.

At Tonsley, talk to the Concierge team on the ground floor about how you can access the facility. 

No responsibility is accepted by the university for any loss of or damage to bicycles stored in the bicycle stores.

Showers and change rooms are available in the following locations:

• North Wing of the Sturt Buildings N249(F), N245(M)
• Law and Commerce 220 (M/F)
• Biological Sciences 306 (F), 210 (M)
• The IST building 214 (F), 216 (M)
• Physical Sciences 2009 (F), 3100 (M)
• The Sports Centre 2007 (F), 2009 (M).
