Inspired by 80s action films, Nicholas is an inspiring creative who practices his craft as often as he can. His interests are comprehensive and include Hollywood cinema, film aesthetics, the history of film distribution, Australian national cinema and Asian cinema.
First year A typical first year may include: |
First year introduces you to theoretical aspects of digital media, including epochs, genres, and how different forms of media converge with each other. Introductory skills in screen production techniques are provided, alongside study of streams such as visual arts, creative writing, business, drama or tourism. |
Second year A typical second year may include: |
Second year introduces more complex screen production skills, including research and writing for the screen industry, and digital graphic design. Core topics address issues such as television and its functions, and how media policy affects society, citizenship and government. |

In the final year, screen production techniques are refined, perfected and enhanced. Further core topics explore issues such as non-fiction production, interaction design, cultural issues in the creative arts, or multimedia production. You will be able to take option topics in the various streams, and elective topics. |
The degree provides you with practical experience that prepares you for the workforce.
There are opportunities to take your studies overseas with a student exchange program. A short course with a TV focus is also offered at Butler University, Indianapolis.

If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers.
This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
If you don’t meet our academic entry requirements, you can still gain entry to Flinders University through academic pathways programs provided by the Flinders International Study Centre.
