Master of Disability Policy and Practice graduates have access to full membership of the Developmental Educators Australia Inc, and status in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other processional sectors as a developmental educator.

The graduate certificate is designed to meet the needs of practitioners working in education, health and community services that support people with disabilities. Masters provides advanced professional experience for graduates from a range of professional fields associated with disabilities and assists them to become effective and competent leaders and scholars in the field of disability studies.
Topics cover areas such as communication difficulties, autism spectrum disorder; intellectual disability; transition from school to adult life; design and evaluation of disability programs; leisure, disability and the arts; perspectives on ageing and disability; and disability and the individual, family and society.
Master of Disability Policy students have an option of completing a practical topic. Before commencing, you need to complete a study plan with the masters coordinator and discuss your practical placement with the relevant topic coordinator.
Before commencing a placement, students need to attain the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion’s child, vulnerable, aged and disability clearances. They must also have successfully completed a first aid certificate.

Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (2 years) must normally hold a bachelor degree of three or more years duration in a disability-related discipline.
Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (1.5 years) must have completed within 10 years of the commencement date of this course, one of the following;
In addition, applicants must have at least two years full time equivalent professional work experience in Disability.
Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants who hold the former Diploma of Applied Science (Developmental Disabilities) from Flinders University will also be considered.
Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (1.5 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree in Disability or equivalent qualification; or hold an approved four-year bachelor degree in a discipline closely related to Disability and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent relevant professional work experience; or hold an Honours degree in Disability or a closely related discipline or equivalent qualification; or hold a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies or in a closely related discipline from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.
Applicants to the Master of Disability Policy and Practice (2 years) must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a disability-related discipline; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies from Flinders University.
