Innovation and Industry 4.0
Innovation and industry 4.0 is reshaping all industries, from health, manufacturing and business to energy, space and defence. We introduce students to the approaches to innovation and the interplay with smart technology, data, IoT and robotics. We focus on understanding human and organisational factors in the introduction of new technologies, change management, and the process of innovation in an organisation.
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is quickly becoming a key skill in demand across a range of industries, with COVID-19 intensifying the amount of time we all spend online. It permeates all aspects of life as we become more connected through technology, with our personal details, banking, tax and health records all online. We focus on building an understanding of cybersecurity governance, vulnerabilities, risk assessment, and legal and ethical issues.
Digital Transformation Professional Project
Students will gain practical skills by undertaking a professional project for their workplace or an organisation of their choice, focused on the use and application of digital technologies. They will either focus on the technical application of technology (proof of concept) or on the cultural aspects that influence the adoption of digital technologies leading to business transformation, improved outcomes and competitiveness. Students will explore the influences of economic, social, cultural and legal issues affecting organisations that undertake digital transformation projects.
