Flinders media and communications postgraduate programs have not only been developed in consultation with industry, they’ve been designed to give you hands-on experience with the people who work in the industry.
We work with leaders and content creators such as CDW Studios, Kojo, the Media Resource Centre, Channel 44, the Adelaide Fringe, Adelaide Film Festival, the Tourism Industry council of SA and more.

Dr Matt Hawkins is a graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS). In 2002 he was nominated for an Australian Film Institute (AFI) award for The Shot. Since then he has written extensively for film and television in Australia and Ghana. His credits include Always Greener and Home and Away (7 Network), The Micallef Program (ABC) and Life Support (SBS). Matt co-created and wrote the hit series Different Shades of Blue for GTV, as well as the feature film Double Happiness Uranium that gained official selection for the Boston SciFi and Rio De Janeiro film festivals. His award-winning short films have been selected in over 20 international film festivals. Matt has taught screen and media at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, the London Film School, created by Mike Leigh and the National Film and Television Institute in Ghana.
As well as being a lecturer in screen and media at Flinders University he is also the artistic director of the South Australian Playwrights Theatre writing, producing and directing plays, podcasts and audio series and a producer at Frankie Films creating video content for the government and private sectors.
