In Year 10 and 11, it is the time to identify your strengths and interests. Find out what subjects interest you, and perhaps what type of career you might want in the future. If you do your best to identify your favourite subjects in Year 10, you will be able to make informed decisions for choosing your subjects in Years 11 and 12.
This is also the time to lock in good study habits and routines for Year 12 and beyond.
When you’re in Year 10 you may be doing work experience at some stage throughout the year. Below are some career resources to help you along your way.
In Years 10 and 11 you need to make some important decisions around which subjects you want to study in Year 12. If you are interested in studying at Flinders, it’s good to know which degrees require a certain level of knowledge.
Some degrees will list a Year 12 subject as ‘assumed knowledge’. This means that the content in the course will be at a level that assumes you have attained Year 12 knowledge. While it’s not compulsory for you to have done this Year 12 subject, it will be an advantage if you have.
Some degrees will have prerequisites, which are subjects (or the equivalents) that are compulsory for you to have completed before you will be able to start the course. View our degrees below which have prerequisites. However, if you haven’t studied the prerequisite subject in Year 12, don’t worry. There are options to complete bridging courses once you have finished school. Contact us to discuss these options.
