Flinders University’s internationally acclaimed Graduate Program in Public Administration is designed to provide students with the knowledge and fundamental skills for a successful career in public policy, public sector management, and public administration. This includes careers in the public sector, in the not-for-profit sector and even in the private sector. We're proud to be one of the first universities in Australia to deliver a Master of Public Policy and Management entirely online.
Taught by experienced, nationally-awarded academics*, our degrees can be completed in-person, online or mixing online study and on-campus study.
We offer three types of postgraduate degrees: Graduate Certificates (18 units), Graduate Diplomas (36 units) and Masters Degrees (72 units). Students who complete one of our Graduate Certificates obtain 18 units of credit towards a Graduate Diploma or a Masters Degree, and students who complete one of our Graduate Diplomas obtain 36 units of credit towards one of our Masters Degrees.
If you have a busy work schedule, family obligations, live away from Adelaide or simply cannot attend class every week, some of our degrees can be completed entirely online.

Students enrolled in any of the degrees above can move freely between our semester-based face-to-face topics and our study period-based online topics on a topic-by-topic basis. In other words, you can come study on campus when and if it suits you and your schedule, and study online when it is more convenient to you!
The Master of Public Policy and Management offers students a focus on both public policy and public sector management. Students are required to take core topics in both public policy and public management, but can tailor their learning experience based on their interests by focusing their selection of elective topics on public policy, public management or both. It is suitable for students interested in a career in public policy and/or management.
The Master of Public Policy and Management can be completed entirely online, entirely on-campus, or mixing online and on-campus study.

The Master of Public Administration is our research-intensive degree. It is suitable for those who wish to continue their academic careers by pursuing a doctoral degree in the future. In fact, the Master of Public Administration includes a significant research component that is large enough to meet Flinders University’s current research experience criteria for admission into a PhD program.

The Graduate Certificate in Development Administration is an 18-unit program which that requires one semester of full-time study (or equivalent part-time). The course is available on-campus, by flexible delivery or in mixed mode. It is available for full-time study option in Semester 2 only.
It articulates with the 36-unit Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and three 72-unit masters programs - the Master of Public Administration , Master of Public Administration (Management) and Master of Public Administration (Policy). Sequentially developed topics allow progression through the three levels.
Students who complete the graduate certificate normally receive credit for up to 18 units of topics should they wish to proceed with the graduate diploma or masters.
