What you will pay for uni

Postgraduate coursework courses are either Commonwealth supported or fee paying.

Course fees – Commonwealth supported

Some of our postgraduate coursework courses are Commonwealth supported for Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

Being Commonwealth supported means that the cost of studying at university is shared between the Australian government and you.

Fee paying postgraduate courses

Some of our postgraduate coursework courses are fee paying, however, you may be eligible for a FEE-HELP loan to assist with paying your fees.

Other costs

Most courses require textbooks or related materials and some courses require buying additional items like uniforms for clinical placement, or laboratory coats and safety glasses.

Some topics require fieldwork and excursions or out-of-city placements which can include expenses for transport, accommodation and food. There is some assistance from Flinders for these activities but allowances need to be made for these costs.

Most students will need to pay the student services and amenities fee. This fee is calculated based on your study load.

Government assistance

Australian students who are undertaking second bachelor degrees, graduate certificates or graduate diplomas may be eligible for financial assistance through the federal government’s Austudy or Youth Allowance schemes. These schemes do not apply to doctorates and most masters degrees.

Financial advocacy

Once you are at uni, you can speak to a financial advocacy officer in the Flinders University Student Association to get help and advice with all things financial like budgeting, grant information, service referral, eligibility for government assistance etc.
