This course provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge and competencies that will provide a foundation for further study and careers in business-related fields.
Students will be encouraged and supported to develop transferable interpersonal and professional capabilities, with a focus on the application of knowledge, competencies, and capabilities to a range of business/organisational contexts. Students will apply their knowledge and competencies to a range of business/organisational practices including systems and processes, planning, production, and operations.
Students will undertake topics such as Accounting for Managers, Management, People and Organisations, Economics for Business, Law for Business, Marketing Principles, Keys to University Success, Innovation and Creative Thinking: Recognising Opportunities and Academic and Professional Numeracy.
The Diploma of Business articulates with the Bachelor of Business, for which students can apply for up to one year of credit, allowing students to complete the Bachelor of Business within an additional two years (or part-time equivalent).
Students can also apply for up to one year of credit towards other Bachelor degree courses upon admission.
On successful completion of the Diploma, students will also be guaranteed entry to the following courses:

The Diploma in Arts provides students with a broad range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies from across the University, with a focus on aspects of human culture and achievement.
This course offers a sound basis of knowledge in their chosen areas of study, the ability to apply the knowledge they have acquired, the skills required to communicate effectively in a range of ways, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and an understanding of the value of ethical behaviour.
Students may undertake topics from a range of disciplines including: American Studies, Applied Linguistics, Archaeology, Biological Sciences, Business Studies, Creative Writing, Criminology, Drama, Earth Sciences, English, French, Geography and Environmental Studies, History, Indigenous and Australian Studies, Indonesian, Innovation and Enterprise, Information Technology, International Affairs, International Relations, Italian, Law and Society, Mathematics, Modern Greek, Physical Education, Philosophy, Politics, Professional Studies, Psychology, Public Policy, Sciences, Screen and Media, Sociology, Spanish, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Visual Arts and Women's Studies.
