Your performance in the final year of secondary education is not always a true indicator of your ability to succeed at university. We will consider your school’s recommendation about your academic performance and potential for university study for admission to a wide range of Flinders courses.
What courses can I apply for?
The School Recommendation Program allows you to apply for admission to the majority of courses offered at Flinders.
Some Flinders courses have prerequisite entry requirements. You will need to satisfy these requirements as part of the application.
Are you eligible to apply
You are eligible to apply for the School Recommendation Program if you are:
- applying for a Flinders course starting next year AND
- currently enrolled in Year 12/13 OR
- enrolled in an alternate education pathway (FLO/VET).
How to apply
- Apply for a Flinders course through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC).
- Download and complete Section A of the School Recommendation Application Form (PDF) (attaching any relevant documentation and two of your latest school reports).
- Arrange for the School Principal or delegate to complete and sign Section B and return to the University.
Selection
Your application will be considered on a combination of:
- principal/school statement
- applicant statement
- two latest school reports
- overall performance at Year 11/12 studies (including subjects and subject combinations that may not be counted towards an ATAR)
- illustration of achievements in other aspects of life and other studies, where relevant (TAFE/VET/community involvement/work experience/volunteering).

If successful you will be made an offer via SATAC (please note that an application does not guarantee an offer or admission).
